Cliff was born in Wisconsin and raised in New Hampshire. He received his Bs degree from Rensselaer, his Master's and Phd of Electrical Engineering from U of Arizona. He worked as a physicist for 15 years at Berkeley Research then changed careers to design engineering at Intel. .
He is survived by his two children, Monica and Rick, his 3 grandchildren by Rick and his wife Pat.
